My Good Life: For Special Needs Families
Tips for Living Your Good Life Now Despite Your Circumstances
Welcome to My Good Life’s Newsletter
You are receiving this newsletter because you opted into a Newsletter via My Good Life’s website, or via an in person event. This newsletter and our website are geared towards helping parents of children with special needs live a good life.
As a 501c3 with a mission to support parents of children with special needs, we are thrilled to launch a weekly newsletter via Substack.
What are you most in need of now? For example:
“I am in need of a remote job and advice on how to teach my special needs child from home.” Cynthia Smith Chicago IL.
This is so true. Many families are learning how to navigate the new normal. Her is a link to remote positions that are hiring for remote work.
Are you feeling down and in need of inspiration?
Check out a recent article I wrote for Today Show Parents about navigating the new normal while parenting special needs children.
Have we met before? If not, check out my bio below to learn a bio about me and story.
Eraina Ferguson Bio
After giving birth to her daughter Taylor at the age of 20, Eraina decided she would live a good life despite her circumstances. Even after receiving a diagnosis of profound hearing loss and autism for her daughter Taylor, she went on to earn three academic degrees including one from Yale University. In the process of living in three different cities and navigating education and personal hurdles, she discovered something profound and universal: this isn’t a normal life, it’s a good life.
Quick Tips for this Week
Take Thirty – Take thirty minutes for yourself each day.
Write a Letter to Yourself-It’s a therapeutic note to help you realize that this Covid-19 season won’t last forever. As I recently wrote via a Facebook post, I pray that you have strength, grace a hope during this time.
Write a Schedule: Even if you don’t stick to it, write a light schedule that you can try to keep loosely.
